According to federal regulators, the U.S. oil output is expected to average 10 million barrels a day this year, a record breaking 9.6 million barrels a day in 1970.

The United States Energy Information Administration (EIA) predicted in its latest short-term energy outlook report that U.S. oil production growth will continue next year. The average U.S. oil output in 2019 is forecast at 10.8 million barrels / day.

According to the report, US oil production in November 2019 is expected to exceed 11 million barrels / day mark. The average production in 2017 is about 9.3 million barrels / day. The average production in December is estimated at 9.9 million barrels / day.

The US Energy Information Administration also forecast that natural gas production will also increase. The average natural gas output in 2018 is estimated at 80.4 billion cubic feet per day, 6.9 billion cubic feet per day higher than in 2017. US Energy Information Administration said it will record the highest year-on-year increase in output.

US natural gas production is projected to average 2.6 billion cubic feet per day by 2019.
