Oasis’ New CNG Inline Trailer Breakaway Designed For Safety And Convenience

Oasis Engineering, a specialist Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) and product development company based in Tauranga, New Zealand, has designed and manufactured the latest technology in Trailer Breakaway’s for the Natural Gas Vehicle (NGV) industry.

The IB108 Inline Trailer Breakaway is manufactured by Oasis Engineering with two different thread types, National Pipe Tapered (NPT) which is used mostly in North America and SAE which is a globally recognised thread type.

Ricky Lee, Vice President of Business Development for USA & Canada has noticed changes in the North American market: “I have recognised a push towards the US market using more SAE threads instead of NPT. Because of its design, SAE is far less likely to leak and therefore much safer”.

Oasis Engineering, now over 30 years old, is long versed in meeting the varied requirements of the global CNG market. It can customize products to suit any customers requirements which can include adjustments as simple as different thread types or as complex as complete customisation of the product.

As well as manufacturing the inline trailer breakaway, Oasis Engineering provides instruction manuals and kits for servicing the parts. Oasis has gone to the lengths of producing component servicing videos which they have posted on their YouTube channel, ‘Oasis Engineering Ltd’.

“Our videos are made for ensuring our customers understand the process of servicing and how to correctly use the kits we provide,” says Lee.
“The customer can see how disassembly and reassembly is performed correctly to get it right the first time.”

Most CNG inline trailer breakaways are not able to be serviced and require a highly experienced technician to remove and replace them, whereas the IB108 can be removed and serviced by onsite maintenance staff which means less downtime and much lower costs.
